A hundred years calls for celebrations across the globe. Together with Code d’Azur we crafted a central online platform to give all these events a digital presence, alongside unique stories from KLM’s rich history and several specially created centennial products.
The platform went live at the start of the official countdown, 100 days before KLM’s anniversary on October 7th.
Due to the special nature of the occasion, we wanted the site to be more than just a simple collection of pages. In true KLM spirit, we let the user fly above and through the clouds, following the celebratory three-coloured ribbon.
The user controls the speed and direction of flight by scrolling. Along the way, the user flies past floating tiles each representing (and linking to) a specific content section of the site.
